I was traveling to Iloilo for the Dinagyang Festival and I was told to bring and packed an insect repellent because of the Zika incedent in the city, so I grab my Green Cross Active Protect Insect Repellent Lotion. This insect repellent contains N,N-Diethyl-meta-toluamide 25%, commonly known as DEET.
According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, DEET offers the best protection against mosquitoes, ticks and insect bites. Higher concentration of DEET may have a longer and effective repellent effect.
Does it work?
Yes. Since I live in a tropical and humid country, mosquito-related diseases is highly prevalent. That’s why I always have it at home and I regularly keep it m on-the-go bag.
It’s quite easy to use, just apply on all exposed skin uniformly. Do not apply near the eyes and mouth, it might irritate you. Wash your hands after using. It provides up to 10 hours of protection from mosquitoes and insects. It’s ideal to use for camping trips, outdoor activities and beaches with sunblock of course.
